Energy Vitamin's drug interactions notice

While I would love to see everyone taking a series of vitamins and minerals that help reduce fatigue, increase abstract thought and boost focus. I can't always say that. If you are taking medication especially seek advice from your health provider. The following are just a few interactions drugs have with vitamin b12.

Chloramphenicol- limited evidence that it may interfere with red blood cell response to supplemental vitamin b12

Proton pump inhibitors- (omeprazole, lansoprazole) used to treat acid reflux. These drugs can interfere with b12's absorption from food. If you are taking this medication long term you need to talk to your doctor about the possibility of monitoring B12s

H2 receptor antagonists- cimetidine, famotidinand ranitidine treat peptic ulcer disease. These drugs also interfere with absorption of vitamin b12. If you've used this for a year plus start talking to your doctor about b12 levels.

Metformin- used to treat diabetes and may reduce b12 absorption. While not all researchers agree metformin is the culprit if you are on this medication it maybe best to look at your b12 absorption levels.

You can thank The office of dietary supplements for providing a coherent list of some known drugs that interfere with b12.
